A comforting and convenient dinner option that brings family together with every messy bite of savory goodness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Brown the beef. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Use a spatula to break it apart as it cooks for 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the onion. Toss in the chopped onion with the browned beef and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until tender.
- Mix in your other ingredients. In the slow cooker, combine the beef and onion with the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and salt and pepper. Stir until evenly mixed.
- Cook low and slow. Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for about 240-300 minutes or high for 120-180 minutes.
- Serve it up. Once ready, heap the meaty goodness onto the hamburger buns and let everyone assemble their Sloppy Joe masterpiece.
