Description

A comforting layered casserole with browned beef, tender potatoes, and fresh green beans, all mingled in a savory tomato broth.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 medium-sized potatoes, diced
  • 2 cups green beans, trimmed and cut into small pieces
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, including juice
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a greased baking dish while the oven warms.
  3. Brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  4. Combine the browned beef mixture with diced potatoes, green beans, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top if desired. Bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Optional: Serve with sour cream or chopped parsley. Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated for future meals.
