- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 8-inch round cake pans lightly.
- Cream together the room-temperature butter and granulated sugar for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla bean paste to distribute evenly throughout the batter.
- Sift the cake flour and baking powder into the batter in three parts, folding gently until just combined.
- Stir in the whole milk until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then turn them out onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
- Serve your masterpiece garnished with fresh berries or powdered sugar.
Notes
For a delightful twist, consider adding lemon zest or nutmeg to the batter.
