- 10 cups challah or favorite bread, cut into cubes
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon chopped sage
- 1 tablespoon chopped rosemary
- 1 tablespoon chopped thyme
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced celery and onion, sautéing until softened.
- Stir in minced garlic, sage, rosemary, and thyme, cooking for another minute.
- Combine the sautéed mixture with bread cubes in a large bowl.
- Gradually add broth until the mixture is moist but not soggy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is crispy and golden.
- Serve warm.
Notes
