- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and shape into small meatballs.
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove meatballs and set aside.
- Add flour to the same skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
- Whisk in beef broth and soy sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in heavy cream and return the meatballs to the skillet.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes until meatballs are cooked through and the gravy is rich.
- Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
Notes
Consider checking tenderness of meatballs after 6 hours in the slow cooker. Refrigerate leftovers and reheat gently.
