Description

A comforting and flavorful Slow Cooker Turkey Chili that’s easy to prepare and perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 12 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (any color)
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano (fresh or dried)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado, or fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Brown the turkey in a skillet over medium heat until it’s no longer pink.
  2. Add the browned turkey to your slow cooker.
  3. Throw in the diced onion, garlic, bell pepper, and stir.
  4. Include the diced tomatoes (with juice), kidney beans, black beans, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Set the slow cooker on low and cook for about 300 minutes (5 hours).
  6. Final touches: Give it a stir before serving, and let it cool slightly to thicken.

Notes

For extra depth, consider adding Worcestershire sauce or diced jalapeños for a spicier kick. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
