Juicy and flavorful hamburger patties made from ground beef, perfect for grilling or stovetop cooking.
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80/20)
- 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
- 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- 1 to 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Divide beef into 4 equal balls.
- Gently form into patties slightly wider than your buns.
- Press a shallow dent in the center of each patty.
- Season right before cooking.
- Preheat grill to medium high. Oil the grates. Cook patties 4 to 5 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Add cheese in the last minute (if desired).
- Heat a cast iron or heavy skillet over medium high heat. Add a tiny bit of oil if the pan is dry. Cook patties 4 to 5 minutes per side for best browning.
- Let the patties rest for about 3 minutes before serving.
Notes
For juicy patties, choose good quality ground beef and do not overmix the meat. You can make patties ahead of time and store them in the fridge.
