- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cups cooked rice
- Optional toppings: green onions, sesame seeds, cucumber, shredded carrots, fried egg
Instructions
- Cook your rice first or use leftover rice from the fridge.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet on medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Spoon off excess grease, leaving a bit for flavor.
- Add garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and a splash of sesame oil and simmer until beef is glossy.
- Spoon the beef over rice and add your preferred toppings.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using a splash of gochujang or chili garlic sauce if you like some heat.
