Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini chocolate roses
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon rose water (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped rose petals (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and rose water.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate roses and semisweet chocolate chips. If using, gently fold in the chopped rose petals.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For chewier cookies, consider adding an extra egg yolk. You can also chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
