Ingredients

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp red food coloring
  • Powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  7. Place dough balls on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until edges are set.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
