Description

A hands-off slow cooker turkey breast recipe that results in juicy, flavorful meat and a rich rosemary gravy, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 skin-on, bone-in turkey breast
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary (or dried)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the turkey breast dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Rub the turkey with the softened butter.
  3. Layer onions and garlic on the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Place the turkey in the crockpot, pour in the chicken broth, and add rosemary sprigs.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, checking after 5 hours for doneness.
  6. If desired, broil for a few minutes for crispy skin before serving.
  7. To make gravy, skim off fat from the juices in the crockpot, pour into a pot, and bring to a simmer.
  8. Whisk in cornstarch slurry and add a sprig of rosemary, adjusting the thickness by adding broth or water as needed.

Notes

For best results, use fresh rosemary. Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers for up to 3 days or frozen for later use.
