Description

A cozy and easy-to-make Swedish meatball recipe that simmers in a creamy sauce, perfect for busy days and potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Frozen fully cooked meatballs
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Cornstarch slurry (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the meatballs to your crockpot. No need to thaw if they are frozen, just dump them in.
  2. Whisk together beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Pour this over the meatballs.
  3. Cover and cook on low for about 4 to 5 hours or high for about 2 to 3 hours until meatballs are hot and sauce is bubbling gently.
  4. Stir in sour cream near the end to keep the sauce smooth.
  5. If desired, stir in a cornstarch slurry and cook an additional 10 to 15 minutes until thickened.

Notes

For the best flavor, use a brand of frozen meatballs you enjoy. Adjust seasoning to taste, especially with Worcestershire sauce and black pepper.
