- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 4 cups whole milk
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup butter, cut into pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Add ingredients to the crockpot: Measure out the elbow macaroni into the slow cooker. Pour in the whole milk, and be generous with the cheese.
- Toss in butter: Scatter those butter pieces evenly on top.
- Season it up: Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir everything gently.
- Cook on low: Set your slow cooker to low and cover it. Allow it to cook for about three hours.
- Stir occasionally: About halfway through, give your mac and cheese a gentle stir.
- Check for doneness: After three hours, give it one last stir and check the texture.
- Enjoy! Once it reaches cheesy perfection, turn off the slow cooker and serve immediately.
Notes
If you’re short on time, you can cook on high for 1.5 hours. This recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
