Description

A cozy comfort food made with tender sirloin steak, buttery potatoes, and melted cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 4 large russet potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the cubed sirloin steak with salt, pepper, and paprika, tossing to coat evenly.
  2. Place the diced potatoes and chopped onion in the bottom of the crockpot, then add the seasoned steak on top.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour over the steak and potatoes.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the steak is tender and the potatoes are soft.
  5. About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top and cover the crockpot to let it melt.
  6. Drizzle with sour cream and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

For thicker gravy, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with cold water and stir in during the last 30 minutes on high.
