- 3 to 4 pounds of beef roast (chuck roast)
- 1 packet of dry Italian seasoning mix
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 1 jar of pepperoncini peppers (with juice)
- Optional: sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese for topping
- Fresh hoagie or sub rolls for serving
Instructions
- Start by placing the beef roast in the crockpot. Don’t worry if it seems too big; it’ll shrink down during cooking.
- Next, sprinkle the Italian seasoning all over the roast generously.
- Pour in the beef broth. Toss in some pepperoncini peppers along with their juice for added spice.
- Cover the crockpot and set it to low. Let it cook for 8 hours.
- When done, carefully remove the roast and shred it with two forks.
- Return the shredded beef to the crockpot and mix it with the juices.
- Serve the Italian beef on fresh hoagie rolls, drizzling the juices over it, and top with provolone cheese if desired.
