- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup crushed chocolate cookies
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Extra cookie crumbles for topping
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Warm the milk and butter until melted and slightly warm.
- Mix the milk mixture with the dry ingredients, then add the egg and stir until combined.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread cream cheese over the dough, then sprinkle cinnamon, crushed cookies, and mini chocolate chips.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla to make icing.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls and sprinkle with extra cookie crumbles.
Notes
These rolls are best enjoyed fresh from the oven. Store in an airtight container and reheat if needed.
