Ingredients
Scale
- 3 lb. Boneless Turkey Breast
- ½ Stick Unsalted Butter
- 1 Tsp. Salt (or to taste)
- 1 Tsp. Ground Pepper
- 1 ½ Tsp. Cajun Seasoning
- 2 Tsp. Paprika
- 2 Tsp. Cumin
- 2 Tsp. Garlic Powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Coat a baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Set aside for later.
- Clean and pat dry the turkey breast.
- In a bowl, place the butter, garlic, and remaining seasonings. Stir to combine until creamy.
- Loosen the skin of the turkey breast. Spread half of the butter mixture underneath the skin, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
- Spread the other half of the butter on top of the turkey breast.
- Place the turkey in the coated baking dish, skin-side up. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes or until the skin starts to brown.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, basting occasionally with pan juices.
- Check the temperature with a thermometer; remove it from the oven at 160 degrees.
- Lightly cover with foil and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
Basting adds extra moisture and flavor to meat. Consider pairing with creamy mashed potatoes and Southern-style sides.
