Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb turkey breast
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp liquid smoke (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp curing salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder until the brown sugar is dissolved.
  2. Prepare the turkey: Trim visible fat and slice turkey into 1/4 inch strips.
  3. Marinate the turkey: Coat the turkey strips with the marinade in a ziplock bag, seal, and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
  4. Strain: Remove turkey from the marinade, letting the excess drip off.
  5. Prepare for drying: Lay the turkey strips on dehydrator trays with space in between.
  6. Dehydrate: Set the dehydrator to the appropriate temperature and dehydrate for about 4 to 6 hours.
