- 1 lb turkey breast
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp liquid smoke (optional)
- 1/4 tsp curing salt (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder until the brown sugar is dissolved.
- Prepare the turkey: Trim visible fat and slice turkey into 1/4 inch strips.
- Marinate the turkey: Coat the turkey strips with the marinade in a ziplock bag, seal, and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
- Strain: Remove turkey from the marinade, letting the excess drip off.
- Prepare for drying: Lay the turkey strips on dehydrator trays with space in between.
- Dehydrate: Set the dehydrator to the appropriate temperature and dehydrate for about 4 to 6 hours.
Notes
Store in an airtight container or a resealable bag for up to several weeks. Enjoy as a snack or with sides like cornbread.
