Description

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil for garnish
  • Olive oil cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with olive oil.
  2. Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish until evenly combined.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish, leaving space between each piece.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each piece. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end of baking. Pair with buttered green beans or creamy mashed potatoes.
