- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil for garnish
- Olive oil cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with olive oil.
- Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish until evenly combined.
- Dip each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish, leaving space between each piece.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each piece. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For a crispier crust, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end of baking. Pair with buttered green beans or creamy mashed potatoes.
