Description

A cozy and aromatic warm drink perfect for holiday gatherings, made simply in a slow cooker.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large bottle apple cider
  • 4 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 23 orange slices
  • 12 star anise (optional)
  • 12 shots of rum or bourbon (optional)
  • Honey or maple syrup to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour the apple cider into the slow cooker.
  2. Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange slices, and star anise if using.
  3. Set the slow cooker to LOW for 3-4 hours or HIGH for 1-2 hours.
  4. Taste and add honey or maple syrup if desired.
  5. Serve warm, spiking each mug with rum or bourbon if desired.

Notes

Store any leftover cider in a jar in the fridge for 4-5 days. Reheat as needed in the microwave or slow cooker.
