A cozy and aromatic warm drink perfect for holiday gatherings, made simply in a slow cooker.
Ingredients

- 1 large bottle apple cider
 - 4 whole cinnamon sticks
 - 10 whole cloves
 - 2–3 orange slices
 - 1–2 star anise (optional)
 - 1–2 shots of rum or bourbon (optional)
 - Honey or maple syrup to taste (optional)
 
Instructions
- Pour the apple cider into the slow cooker.
 - Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange slices, and star anise if using.
 - Set the slow cooker to LOW for 3-4 hours or HIGH for 1-2 hours.
 - Taste and add honey or maple syrup if desired.
 - Serve warm, spiking each mug with rum or bourbon if desired.
 
Notes
Store any leftover cider in a jar in the fridge for 4-5 days. Reheat as needed in the microwave or slow cooker.
