- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup caramel chips
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
- ½ tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Fold in the caramel chips and chocolate chips gently.
- Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle flaky sea salt on each cookie before baking.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are slightly soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Can swap chocolate chips for nuts or different flavored chips as desired. For a dairy-free version, substitute unsalted butter with coconut oil.
