Description

A forgiving, crusty bread made effortlessly in a slow cooker, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast together.
  2. Add warm water and stir until a wet dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 12-18 hours until bubbly.
  4. Flour your work surface and turn the dough out onto it. Fold it over on itself a couple of times.
  5. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.
  6. Place a large crockpot insert in the slow cooker and turn it on high.
  7. Once hot, carefully place the dough into the crockpot.
  8. Cover and cook for about 2-2.5 hours until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Remove and let cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

This bread pairs well with soups, stews, or can be enjoyed with olive oil and balsamic for dipping.
