A comforting and easy breakfast casserole made with sausage, eggs, cheese, and bread, perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 12 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices bread, cubed
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers (optional)

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Add the cubed bread, cooked sausage, cheese, and any optional ingredients to the egg mixture. Stir gently.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Bake uncovered for about 45-50 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden on top.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For leftovers, let cool to room temperature, then store tightly covered. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
