Description

A comforting slow-cooked chicken dish that’s easy to prepare and perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Italian herbs
  • Rice or pasta (for serving)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic (fresh or powdered, optional)
  • 1 packet onion soup mix (optional)
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • A splash of vinegar or lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the crock pot.
  2. Mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, and Italian herbs in a bowl.
  3. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the chicken is tender.
  5. Serve over rice or pasta with the sauce.

Notes

Leftovers taste even better the next day. To reheat, cover and warm gently on the stovetop or microwave.
