- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Zest of 2 lemons
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- Powdered sugar for glaze
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a large bowl and mix in the sugar until combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with lemon juice.
Notes
Try using limes if you’re out of lemons or add fresh berries for a twist. These brownies get better after a night in the fridge.
