Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Position a rack in the center of your oven and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and slightly fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla until the batter is glossy and smooth.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend this into the creamed mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop large tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and centers look slightly soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Using real unsalted butter enhances the flavor. Letting the dough rest will yield a softer crumb.
