Description

A comforting and savory Crockpot French Dip Sandwich featuring tender beef and a rich au jus.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs beef chuck roast (trimmed of excess fat)
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth (low-sodium)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Sliced provolone cheese (one slice per sandwich)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef roast in the crockpot, fat-side up.
  2. Add sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the beef.
  3. Mix beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then pour over the beef.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  5. Once tender, shred the beef in the crockpot and stir into the jus.
  6. Serve on hoagie rolls topped with cheese and au jus on the side.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the roast before slow cooking. Leftovers improve and can be reheated easily.
