- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp maple extract
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp fine salt
- 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers
- Holly berry sprinkles, optional
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, and maple extract until smooth and combined.
- Add the egg to the bowl and whisk until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, ground cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Portion the chilled dough into 1.5 oz balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes until puffed and slightly cracked on top.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Melt white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and dip half of each cooled cookie into the melted chocolate.
- Pipe extra melted chocolate over the dipped area and sprinkle with holly berry decorations before the drizzle sets.
- Allow the chocolate to set completely before serving or storing.
Notes
These cookies may taste even better the next day, and can be stored in an airtight container or frozen for longer preservation.
