Warm and comforting Apple Crisp Bars filled with tender apples and a buttery oat topping, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups sliced fresh apples
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice and cinnamon. Spread this mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt, then cut in the cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbly mixture generously over the apples in your baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until the topping turns golden brown and the apples bubble.
  7. Allow the bars to cool before slicing them into squares.

Notes

These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat in the oven for about 10 minutes to restore their warmth.
